Film Photography
The most common type of photography is the use of mobile phones. Quick, easy and the poor photos can just be erased. So, why bother with a slower, messier and more expensive film process ? Equally, why bother learning how to draw or paint ? Because it is fun. It gives a sense of achievement and a full understanding of how the picture is made. We will explore three types of photography: Pinhole cameras + “toy” cameras + conventional film cameras In Black&White (for now). Take various photos, chemically process the negatives and scan them into a photo app for printing. I have stocks of pinhole cameras, simple cameras and conventional cameras including eight identical SLR cameras. Lenses, flashguns, macro equipment and even stereo film cameras for use by participants. Film photography is enjoying a resurgence similar to that of vinyl records. Film factories that closed have restarted production, a new factory has begun production in China and you can still buy new film cameras. There are commercial courses for beginners to advanced but they run to several hundred pounds. Thank you camera-house.co.uk for your donations.
